A group, Ondo APC mandate group has asked for the dissolution of Ade Adetimehin led state executive committee of the party for insubordination.
In a letter signed by the group's convener, Olorunfemi Micheal and Publicity Secretary, Olugbenga Bojuwomi, they hinged their call on the recent tussle rocking the party over the national assembly primaries in the state.
"The call for immediate dissolution of Mr Ade Adetimehin-led State Executive Committee is hinged on constitutional breaches.
"The SEC is guilty of insubordination to National leadership, lack of cooperation with National leadership, undemocratic actions and anti-party activities," the group said.
They also accused the state executive of working only for the interest of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.
"Additionally, the SEC does not represent the aspirations and interests of party members in Ondo State. The only usefulness of SEC is that it is always available to advance and defend the opinion of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu at the detriment of vast majority of party members," the statement further read.
According to the group, their call for the dissolution of the state exco is backed by 75% of the members of the APC in the state.
They accused the Adetimehin-led exco not clarifying its stand in the reason aspirants were disqualified from contesting for election from the NWC, but went ahead disparage the leadership.
"The Comrade Adams Oshiomole-led National Working Committee published the list of cleared aspirants for senatorial primaries. Instead of the SEC to reach the NWC to seek clarification if and where necessary, the SEC ran to the Press to disparage the party and called the party unprintable names.
"When the NWC, after consultations, announced direct primaries as the mode of election in Ondo State, the SEC did not only rain abuses on the party, the SEC threatened to conduct its own primaries with indirect method. For this reason, the SEC has refused to offer necessary cooperation with the NWC for the success of APC primaries in Ondo State. The SEC is working hard to frustrate and undermine the National leadership of our party in Ondo State.
"Also, when the NWC announced the commencement of nationwide membership registration exercise in Nigeria. Ondo APC SEC issued a press statement to dissociate itself from the registration exercise. The SEC also categorically described the registration exercise as unlawful. That is the height of insubordination and disobedience to lawful authority.
"We have documented evidences and records of the meetings of Ondo APC SEC. Members of the SEC have made disparaging and false statements about the party and its National leaders. The disparaging statements are too awful to be quoted. The SEC has threatened to move against the National leadership and force the National leadership out of office.
"The most disturbing issue is that Ondo APC SEC is threatening to work against the interest of APC before and during the 2019 general elections.
"For the above stated reasons, majority of party members are calling on the National Working Committee (NWC) of APC to invoke its powers as enshrined in provisions of article 13.4 (xvi) and (xvii) of the party's constitution. Ondo APC SEC should be immediately dissolved while caretaker committee is constituted to pilot the affairs of APC in Ondo State.
"Majority of APC members in Ondo State are looking up to our forthright and upright National Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomole to take immediate action in the interest of APC in Ondo State.
"Undue delay will be seen by party members as attempt by the National Chairman to protect the interest of the minority. The National Chairman has two options, either to sustain and enrich his progressive credentials or to protect the interest of a SEC that is guilty of anti-party activities," the statement concluded.
