Some aggrieved members of the All Progressive Congress, APC from Akoko North West Local Government area of Ondo State have stormed the party secretariat in Akure to protest the imposition of Mr MORAKINYO AJAYI as the Party's Chairmanship candidate for next Council poll.
The protesters from all the 10 Wards of the local government gathered at the Secretariat chanting solidarity songs and carried placard with various inscriptions where however repelled by some alleged thugs at the party Secretariat gate.
Some of the inscriptions includes Don't Kill APC," 'No To Imposition of A cultist ",Akoko Obas,Women, Students Artisan rejects imposition of a Cultist', "We Reject Morakinyo a Cultist", Aketi Don't Cajole Us With Senate Ticket", "AKNWLG Reject Senate Ticket",Aketi Beware of Adetimehin"," Adetimehin Is a Political Jobber" " We will Fight Aketi, Adetimehin more than we Fight Tinubu".
The protesters expressed their angers on the attempt imposition by the Mr Ade Adetimehin led State working committee and vowed to resist the move.
Two of the leaders among the Protesters who spoke with journalists, ELDER AKOGUN AKINYELE and Prince Ajibade condemned the.steps taken by the leadership of the party at the state level and called for transparency in selecting candidates for the local government elective positions.
The protesters who were dispersed from the Party Secretariat however reconvene at the Governor's Office, Alagabka Akure with posters and placards to demonstrate their anger on the alleged imposition.
Meanwhile, the All Progressives Congress APC in Ondo State has described as unfortunate the protest that took place at the party's secretariat over alleged imposition by some members. The Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr Alex Kalejaye in a statement made available to newsmen in Akure described the Protesters as uninformed over their allegations of imposition of candidates. Mr Kalejaye in the statement noted that the leadership had no plan to impose candidates either at the local, state or National levels of elections at the expense of members interest. The party appealed to members to be abreast of information and seek clarification on issues before embarking on unnecessary protest that could defamed the party ahead of the 2019 general elections.
