The Deji and Paramount ruler of Akure Kingdom,the Ondo State capital,Oba Ogunlade Aladelusi,has announced that all shops and markets in the state capital be closed on Monday,August 27, 2018.
The monarch in a statement by his chief press secretary,Michael Adeyeye said the closure will be to observe Aheregbe Festival in the town.
While saying that no trading under any guise would be allowed,the traditional explained that it has been the age long tradition during the festival.
The statement urged all residents, traders and shops owners to abide with the directive.
However,the monarch noted that there would not be restriction of human and vehicular movement.
" The palace wishes to inform residents that no trading or opening of shops under any guise will be allowed.
"Residents, market women and shop owners are kindly enjoined to comply with this directive.
"However, the festival will not in anyway restrict both human and vehicular movement," the statement read in part.
