A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo state and an aspirant for the Akoko Southwest/Southeast federal constituency seat in the house of representatives says he is into politics to change the narratives and win people's hearts.
Adeogun said this in Akure during an interactive session with the Ondo state council of the League of Online Publishers.
The Oba Akoko born security expert who identified poverty as one of the major challenges bedeviling the people at the grassroots, harped on the need for adequate education and industrial development as the way out.
He said with radical industrialisation, poverty will be reduced, while adding that this will transform Akoko and by extension Ondo state to a business hub just like what is being witnessed in Aba, Abia state.
"We need to train the people in skills inquisition and create a business incubation centre which will be tailored in line with the Ariara market model in Aba. Every street you get to in Aba is a market which is good for the development of the people.
"With the few empowerment have been able to do, I have put smiles in the faces of the people of Akoko southwest and Akoko at large. There is no one in Akoko that do not have my phone number. I have been able to solve many of their problems according to my ability," Adeogun said
On state and community policing as a measure to end insecurity in Nigeria, Adeogun emphasised the need for community policing while saying Nigeria is not yet ripe for state policing in view of the abuse of powers that may witness the polity.
