Rising from its State working committee and state executive committee meeting held at the party secretariat in Akure, the Ondo state chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC has condemned in strong terms actions taken by some individuals recognising suspended chairman, Isaacs Kekemeke as the authentic chairman of the party in the state.
Addressing journalists at the end of the meeting, the state publicity secretary of the party, Abayomi Adesanya condemned the "illegal acts" and called perpetrators of such to desist.
He said, "We just held the meeting of the state working committee and state executive committee of APC in Ondo state, and we think it is important to brief the whole word about the outcome of our decision.
"There are rumours going round town that some group of individuals gathered themselves together somewhere and claimed they are the officers of the party in the state, arrogating to themselves the authorities of the party.
"We want to tell the whole world we condemn that in totality, the meeting is illegal, it is not known to the party in Ondo state. We have resolved unanimously to condemn the action as illegal, an affront and sheer impunity on the part of some individuals who claim to be officers of the party and were receiving defectors, giving amnesty to some group of people. We believe that amnesty is to be given to criminals, and in lieu of this, our resolution here as the state working committee of the party is that we condemn their action in totality.
The party also asked all suspended executives and members of the party in possession of party properties to return them with immediate effect.
