Suspect in Ifon bank robbery ‘arrested’ – Police

The Commissioner of Police in Ondo state, Gbenga Adeyanju has said a suspect has been arrested in connection with Thursday's bank robbery in Ifon, Ose local government area of the state.

Mr. Adeyanju told journalists on Friday in Ifon that the suspect was arrested in Uzeba, Edo state where he was receiving treatment from the gunshot injury he sustained during the operation.

It will be recalled that a gang of armed robbers on Thursday raided a branch of Skye bank at Ifon, carting away an undisclosed amount of money.


The commissioner of who was visiting the town for the second time after the robbery attack also visited the families of the three slain police officers.

He said the slain officers will be compensated.

Also visited by Mr. Adeyanju and his team was the palace of Olufon of Ifon, Oba Adegoke Adeusi where he had a closed-door meeting with the monarch.
