The Ondo State House of Assembly has said that it would confirm the 18 Commissioner nominees tomorrow.
The Speaker of the Assembly, Rt. Hon. Bamidele Oleyelogun and the House Majority Leader, Hon. Olugbenga Araoyinbo, confirmed this yesterday while speaking with The Hope in Akure, the state capital.
According to the two principal officers, the House Committee on Selection and Screening would first present its report before the whole House at the plenary sitting on Tuesday before the final confirmation of the Commissioner nominees.
The 18 Commissioner nominees had last week been screened by the Committee on Selection and Screening under the Chairmanship of the Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon. Bamidele Oleyelogun.
The three days screening exercise which started on Monday was rounded off on Wednesday after all the 18 nominees had been successfully screened by the committee.
In a telephone conversation with the Speaker yesterday, Oleyelogun assured that the House would confirm the nominees tomorrow (Tuesday).
"By the grace of God we will confirm them on Tuesday," the Speaker stressed.
Also confirming the planned confirmation of the Commissioner nominees, Araoyinbo disclosed that the only pending assignment before the House before it proceeds on recess was the final confirmation of the nominees which, he added, would be done on Tuesday.
"We do not have any other pending assignment before us; the only assignment we have now is the confirmation of the Commissioner nominees and we would do that on Tuesday at our plenary sitting before we go on recess," the House Majority Leader emphasised.
