The Unit Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ore Unit Command, Asst Corps Commander Ozonnadi P.C has called on political leaders, traditional rulers, drivers unions and all other stakeholders to join in the sensitisation against reckless driving on Nigeria roads.

He made this call when he paid a courtesy visit to the Caretaker Chairman of Odigbo Local Government, Prince George Adenikinju at the Council Secretariat.

He attributed many of the accidents on Nigerian roads to the reckless driving of the drivers as he was particular on round about at the express junction as a flash point because of its chaotic traffic situation.

Ozonnadi said he had particularly visited the Chairman and appealed to him to solicit for his support in order to reduce accident to the barest minimum in the unit.

He said "I have come to meet the Chairman being the Chief Security Officer of the Council to brief him on the activities of the Corps and to equally solicit for his support."

He however used the occasion to express his dissatisfaction about the activities of the road users, particularly the motorcyclists popularly known as "okada riders" for not adhering to safety rules and regulations of the highway.

Stressing that okada riders always ride recklessly and that, he noted that their  attitude alone has led to so many accidents which had resulted to untimely death.

The Unit Commander submitted that every road user has to be safety conscious so as to reduce the number of crashes.

Welcoming the FRSC boss, Chairman, Odigbo Local Government, Prince George Adenikinju who congratulated the FRSC boss on his new assignment promised him his unflinching support to make Ore unit an envy of others in Ondo State.

Adenikinju said "we will not relent on our efforts , we will continue to support you at anytime, by providing the logistics and ensuring a purposeful relationship for a zero tolerance accident in Ore unit."
