ONDO CP VOW TO FLUSH OUT CULTISM AMONG OFFICERS
Speaking at the Command Headquarters in Akure while parading some suspected cultists, Ibifuro-Harrison said investigations have commenced on the alleged involvement of some officers and promised that anyone culpable would be punished accordingly.
She said: "There are allegations against some of my officers and I want to say in absolute terms, they are all being investigated."
"If any evidence is found against anyone of them, If we have sufficient evidence against them by now, we would have shown the world, but it is an allegation, we are still investigating we don't shield police officers who commit crime".
While revealing that the command has arrested more 30 persons for cult related activities, the police boss urged residents to provide useful information to the police.
She advised parents to monitor and teach their wards sound moral values to keep them away from criminal activities.
"Parents should please find out what their children are in to. They should not be allowed to do things that get them involved in crime and criminality."
"We need to teach our young ones about moral values. Very many of them have been arrested even where they are being initiated into cult activities." She advised.
It would be recalled that some residents of the state have alleged that police officers were aiding and abetting cultists hence the increase in their activities in the last few weeks.
Also recently, a policeman killed in the heart of Akure was alleged to be a cultist and met his untimely death in reprisal attack by a rival group.
