About five months after the inauguration of All Progressives Congress, APC government in Ondo State, the party has spoken out on reasons why the State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu has not constituted his cabinet.

Until now, the state had the Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu; Deputy Governor, Agboola Ajayi, Secretary to the State Government, Ifedayo Abegunde, the Chief of Staff, Mr Olugbenga Ale, the Head of Service, Toyin Akinkuotu and the Senior Special Assistants appointed by the governor, running the affairs of the oil rich state.

While speaking with SUNSHINE Herald, the party's publicity secretary in the state, Omo'ba  Abayomi Adesanya cited poor handing over and huge debt profile left by the administration of the former governor of the state, Dr, Olusegun Mimiko as major reasons for the delay in setting up the cabinet.

"Ondo State inherited nothing less than N250billion naira debt, salaries were not paid, the state owned vehicles have been given away by the last administration. The ones left are not in good condition.

"These are part of the hiccups we met on ground and it is making things so difficult for us but we are working day and night to make sure that we get good structures in Ondo State," Adesanya said.

As a way to get ready for governance, the APC spokesman explained that a committee had been set up to critically look into all ministries, parastatals and departments in order to know exactly what was inherited from the past administration.

He further stated that about 8 months unpaid salaries, with N250 billion debt was still pending hence, the government had to stabilize before cabinet members are put in place.

Omo'ba Adesanya assured the people of Ondo state that in continued partnership with the governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, they will not relent in their electoral promises by placing Ondo State on a place of repute

The APC spokesman who noted that governor Akeredolu knows his capabilities, pledged to served in any capacity the governor finds him worthy of service.‎
