Among other comments, Obasanjo said Jonathan did not heed his advice not to seek a second term in office in line with the agreement he had reached with prominent Northern leaders.
But Evah told Punch that Obasanjo, who nominated Jonathan for the positions of governor, vice president, and president, could not say he did not know the man he nominated into those positions.
His words "Our position is that it is not fair for Obasanjo, who was the one that nominated him to now be rubbishing Jonathan. He is not diplomatic at all. As a former president, we expected him to be diplomatic.
"There is something else he has against Jonathan. He is not telling us the real qualities of Jonathan. Jonathan's qualities are more than that.
"So, if he did not see the qualities of Jonathan, why did he nominate him in the first place to be president of the country?
"His comments against Jonathan are unfair. He might have something against Jonathan. Maybe they had an agreement that Jonathan did not meet. That is what Obasanjo is angry about.
"He is not giving us the true position. He cannot tell us that Jonathan is incompetent. Let him tell us the hidden agreement that Jonathan did not fulfill, which is making him to abuse the former president."
