Ondo State government set to buy houses around Akure sports complex

Ondo state deputy governor, Hon. Agboola Ajayi has promised that the state government would work on the report submitted by the committee on acquisition of buildings around the Akure sports complex.

The deputy governor made this disclosure when he hosted the members of the committee in his office.

The committee led by it's chairman, Mr. Phillip Akinbola, presented their report to the state deputy governor.

The members of the committee included: Temitope Momoh, Gbenga Akingbesote, Akinpelu Akinbola, Taiwo Ajimuda, Laolu Akindolie among others.

The state government inaugurated the committee following the collapse of the famous side of the sports complex by the wind lately in the state.

The chairman of the committee, Mr. Phillip Akinbola thanked the state government for permitting the committee to contribute to the growth of the state.

Akinbola stated that 42 properties have been earmarked for acquisition which will pave way for the extension of the stadium including a public primary school and one free land.

Speaking further,he added that the committee also made some proposals for the extension of the stadium in the report for shopping malls and other facilities that will accrue income for the state.

Reacting to the committee's submission, the deputy governor appreciated them for their service.

Ajayi assured the committee of the state's government readiness to work on the recommendations of the committee.

In his remark, the Head of Service of Ondo state, Barrister Toyin Akinkuotu appreciated the state government for tackling the issue on time in ensuring that the stadium is not destroyed by the wind.
