Boye Oyewumi, aspirant in the September 3, 2016 governorship primaries of the All Progressives Congress, APC that produced Ondo state governor, Rotimi Akeredolu as the party's flag bearer has stated his desire to work in any capacity he finds himself.
Oyewumi who spoke exclusively with SUNSHINE HERALD on his recent appointment as the Senior Special Assistant to the governor on Development & Investment noted that against widespread belief that his supporters were unhappy with his appointment, nobody has called to complain, as his core supporters have called to congratulate him.
"Thank you for the opportunity to serve and I look forward to moving forward.
"And I hope to come into government with fresh ideas. We will not disappoint. So I receive it with warm hearth and fired up to perform."
On his appointment into a seemingly less role, Oyewumi said: "In governance, people expect certain things from people they know, in anticipation of certain rewards. All I will say is that the direction you are facing is more important than the position you are holding. I like the direction I am facing and I am very comfortable with whatever I've been given.
"I am not in government for status or ego, I am there to serve and must be able to serve in any capacity. For those who are disappointed on my behalf, I am not disappointed. I am happy. If you really love me, you would be happy with me, expect of course, there are other issues that I am not aware of, could be expectations they want from me. But I'm very happy."
The former guber aspirant's appointment was announced in a press release signed by the Chief Press Secretary, CPS to the governor Segun Ajiboye.
