Adedayo Thomas assumes duty as NFVCB boss

The new Executive Director of the National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB),Adedayo Thomas has assumed duty at the agency's Head Office in Abuja.

It was reliably gathered that the new boss was heartily welcomed by staff of the agency and the Board's management team, led by the Director of Film Censorship and Classification, Mrs. Fatyma Sa'adu.

On assuming duties, Adedayo met briefly with the outgoing Executive Director, Ms Patricia Bala, inside the office before the hand-over ceremony in the conference room.

Speaking after the short ceremony, Adedayo promised that funding should not be a constraint to the Board's operations during his tenure, as wealth is often generated by great ideas.

Adedayo who was accompanied by officials of the Presidency noted that, while he has not come with all the solutions to the Board's challenges, together with the management team, solutions will be forged.

Earlier in her remarks, Bala had lamented the many challenges that bedeviled her tenure, while also listing her achievements.

Adedayo is succeeding Bala, who rose to the position in 2013 as the most senior officer of the at the NFVCB when the tenure of Emeka Mba elapsed.

Adedayo is the Executive Director/Publisher of African Liberty Organization for Development (ALOD) –A non-profit Think-Tank that strives to promote ideas and institutions of the free society in Africa.

He is also the Africa Regional Director of Language of Liberty Institute, USA.

At the Initiative for Public Policy Analysis (IPPA), he is the Director of Research and Operations.
