The Ondo State Governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko says the feat recorded by his administration would not have been possible if not for the dedication, ability and capability of the state public servants.
The Governor spoke at Ilara mokin in Ifedore local government area while commissioning the state public service training institute.
The training institute was conceived in 2010 to champion capacity building for better service delivery and good governance.
The institute was designed to offer graduate training programme, diploma and advance diploma in public administration, accounts, library studies among others.
Addressing the forum, Governor Mimiko said it is in realisation of the fact that public service is the engine room of government and the need to retool them in ensuring excellent service that brought about the project.
He said the idea was to expose the public servants to new ways of doing things to achieve excellence through training and retraining.
He maintained that the achievements recorded by his administration would not have been possible if not for the dedication, ability and capability of public servants.
He noted that the state workers have done excellently well in translating his dreams to reality.
He enjoined civil servants and those in the private sector to take advantage of the institute.
Governor Mimiko informed that government will soon announce members of board that will take charge of the institute.
The State Governor called for a deliberate effort to re-engineer the public service in the face of present economic crunch.
The Institute is designed to be self accounting and self sustaining.
