The management of the Ondo State University of Science and technology (OSUSTECH), Okitipupa in Ondo State, has announced the expulsion of four (4) of its students over cases of gross misconduct.
The university also suspended no fewer than sixteen (16) students for various cases of examination malpractices for one to two academic semesters.
In a circular released by the acting Registrar of the institution, Mr Felix Akinnusi said the students had been advised to stay away from the university premises.
The acting Registrar, while speaking with our correspondent on the telephone, confirmed the expulsion and the suspension of the students.
He said: "It is true that the university has expelled 4 students over what we called Gross misconduct They were involved in physical assault of their colleagues on campus,while those suspended were involved in various examination malpractices."
The students expelled by the university were; Akande Samuel (Microbiology), Oluwatayo Adewale (Geophysics), Okunomo Henry (Biochemistry), and Akinteye Babatunde (Biochemistry) .
According to the circular, the suspended students include; Akinkuowo Fisayo ( Zoology) , Oladimeji Oluwatobi( Microbiology), Oladokun Emmanuel (Geophysics) , Akinde Abiodun (Industrial Chemistry), Elisha Felicia (Biochemistry), Ohafugor Joseph (Geophysics), Kayode Samuel (Physics), Agbaje Taofeek( Mathematics) , Oni Olubunmi (Fisheries), and Olanipekun Oluwasanmi (Physics).
Others suspended were; Ayadi Segun (Fisheries), Adebisi Oladotun (Botany), Edward Monday (Mathematics), Udoh Emmanuel (Industrial Chemistry), Burojo Ojo (Mathematics) and Sanusi Idris (Fisheries).
