All members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) will now be cleared by the Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) before they are mobilised for the orientation course.
This was made known at the decision reached after a meeting held by the JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede and the Director-General, Brig-General Sulaiman Kazaure at the NYSC National Directorate Headquarters.
The JAMB Boss stated that the applications for change of date of birth being forwarded to the council were mostly from over-aged persons who want to get mobilized for the national service.
He further noted that JAMB had been taking measures to block sharps practices.
Kazaure who described JAMB as a critical stakeholder welcomed the agency's renewed commitment to eliminating sharp practices.
He noted that NYSC will also set up a bilateral committee to address all the areas of concern raised by JAMB Registrar.
