The Federal University of Technology (FUT) Minna is to graduate 34 first class students in the forthcoming convocation at the Main Campus Gidan Kwano, Minna.
The Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof Musbau Akanji, who disclosed this Thursday in Minna at a Press conference as part of the activities to mark the 26th convocation and 34th Founder's Day celebration of the university, stated that a total of 3,734 students will be graduated.
He explained that out of the students, 2,788 will be awarded first degrees, 274 with postgraduate diplomas, 637 with masters' degrees and 35 doctorate degrees.
It should be recalled that the university graduated 34 first class degrees last year.
The Vice chancellor added 790 will be graduating with second class upper, 1,345 with second class lower, 549 with third class and 70 with pass degrees and that those graduating were from eight schools and three affiliated colleges of the university.
The VC, who disclosed that this year's Convocation would be his last at the institution following the expiration of his tenure, said that despite the paucity of funds bedevilling higher institutions in Nigeria, the FUT, Minna had forged ahead remarkably.
