Members of the Association of Community Newspaper Publishers ACNP in Ondo State have pledged their unalloyed commitment to continue to work with the state government in propagating it's numerous laudable projects across the state.

The ACNP members disclosed this during their courtesy call to the Office of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Political and Mobilization matters, How Akin Akinbobola, in Akure, recently.

According to the leader of the delegation, Bayo Adediran, publisher of City Movers magazine "the good works of the Governor Mimiko administration are evident and continuous but the challenge, as they have found is that they are grossly underreported.

"If the people, especially local people do not know these essence of these life-touching projects and programmes, how will they appreciate what has been provided for them by the Government?

"As partners in progress and development, we believe it is our responsibility to ensure these laudable projects are effectively put into use and not abused. Adediran said.

Akinbobola in his response, acknowledged and appreciated the ACNP members for their support in publicising the good works of the Mimokl-led government in the past 8years.

"There is one truth which every sincere and genuine person cannot deny. Governor Mimiko has indeed worked for the people of Ondo State especially the ordinary people. But another truth is that some selfish and unscrupulous politicians are not happy, because he's not sharing the money for them to misappropriate"

The challenges that politicians have is not about government not delivering, but that personal expectations are not met.

"And if you care to look at it deeply, we the politicians, what exactly are we complaining of? It is because we are greedy. What exactly do we want? It is not that we are not better than what we were in 2009, but

"If the Government has to actually work for the people of Ondo State like Governor Mimiko has done, then you can be sure that those seeking to buy houses and hotels in Dubai, London and America will not be able to get it, because many of the services we run for the people of Ondo State are FREE, and it requires a lot of money on daily basis." he said

Akinbobola further stated that "some of us may not understand but the people at the lower cadre appreciate the heavy financial burden that the Government has lifted off their shoulders. I know of child who spent 350naira daily (to and from) from Inside Ijoka to St. Louis Akure. That girl alone spent over #56,000 annually on transport, that is the burden that is been lifted off that family with the Free Bus shuttle working nonstop in the last 4 years. Ceaserean Section in private hospitals goes for #150,000 and above, we do that for free and we don't discriminate. There are lots of programs by the government that are life touching they require lots of money also, so we cannot afford to fold our arms and not work for the people." the Governor's adviser stated.
